The group’s position came to the fore in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, during a Town Hall meeting
powered by the Directorate of Infrastructure, Mobilization and Sensitisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Addressing members of the association, the President of the Christian Fellowship of Nigeria (CFN), South East zone, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali, appreciated the president for uplifting the zone through massive infrastructure.

He urged the association and the entire people of the South-East, to support Tinubu’s re-election as a token of appreciation for his love he has shown to the zone.

Nwali said, “we owe President Tinubu, and the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi appreciation, and the only way we can show the appreciation is to support the president in the 2027 general election.”

A former President of the Women Wing of the association, Mrs. Uche Charity Ujunwa, observed that President Tinubu has brought reforms in the country which according to her, has impacted positively on the people and called for support for the President in next year’s general election.

In her words: “this administration has started a work. Let us give them a chance to complete their eight years.

“Nigeria is too big to be governed and put things in place under four years, it is not possible. Let us support President Bola Tinubu, let us not divide our votes.”

In a remark, the leader of the Youth Wing of CAN, South-East, Peter Onyeabor, assaured that the entire christian youths in the zone will deliver the President in the general election.

In their separate remarks, the leader of Yoruba community in Ebonyi State, Kazeem Bankole, and the leader of Hausa community in the state, Alhaji Danjuma Gambo,
pledged to mobilise their groups, to deliver President Tinubu, and all the APC candidates in the general election.

The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, who is the Director of Directorate of Infrastructure, Mobilization and Sensitisation of All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), told the people of South-East to shun sentiments and deliver the President in the 2027 election, to be able to get the Seat when it is their turn.

According to him, “what the people of South-East wants is eight years presidency and not four years. The person that is saying that he will rule for four years as a President, ruled for eight years as governor. If four years was enough, why didn’t he govern for four years as a governor? He would have stopped at four years.

“Four years is introduction. So, our position as leaders of South-East is that Igbo needs complete eight years presidency,
when it is our turn.

“We must support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu so that we can rule for eight years when our time comes for the position,” Umahi said.
