Eid-El-Maulud: VP Shettima Felicitates Muslims, Calls For Renewed Commitment To Peace.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima on Tuesday greeted the Muslim faithful as they mark this year’s Eid-El-Maulud,

Eid-El-Maulud commenmorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

In his message, the vice president urged Muslims to learn from the prophet lesson mercy, humility and justice.

“The life of the Prophet remains an enduring lesson in mercy, humility, justice, patience and service to humanity.

“He taught us that true strength is found in compassion, that leadership must be guided by fairness, and that our faith is best expressed in the way we treat one another,” Shettima said.

He said Nigeria’s economic growth under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda should inspire Nigerians to strengthen the bond that unites the country.

“At a time when our nation continues to experience sustained economic growth under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, these values should inspire us to strengthen the bonds that unite us, care for the vulnerable and reject every form of hatred, division and intolerance.

“Our diversity remains one of Nigeria’s greatest strengths. We must continue to build a country where people of every faith and background can live together in peace, dignity and mutual respect.”

Urging Muslims to remember those in need during the celebration, Shettima stated that true spirit of of the occasion lies reflecting the Prophet’s example in daily lives.

“As we celebrate, I urge Nigerians to remember those in need and to extend kindness to our neighbours and communities.

“The true spirit of this occasion lies not only in remembrance, but in reflecting the Prophet’s example in our daily lives, the vice president said.

He prayed God to accept prayers of Nigerians, grant the nation lasting peace and prosperity, and guide all on the path of righteousness.
