FG Approves Over N430billion In Road Projects, Trailer Park Concessions

The federal government on Wednesday approved about N438 billion in road projects and several trailer park concessions nationwide.

Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, stated this while briefing State House correspondents after the cabinet meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The cabinet meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu, approved the reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure–Osun border road in Ekiti State.

The cost of the contract is N159.83 billion and it is awarded to CBC Global Civil and Building Construction Nigeria Ltd.

The meeting approved a variation order for rehabilitation of the Abeokuta–Iboro–Ilaro Road, Ogun State, at N54.12 billion.

The federal cabinet approved the reconstruction of the 15 km Port Harcourt–Eleme Junction–Onne Port Junction section of the East-West Road in Rivers State.

The cost of the contract, awarded to RCC Nigeria Ltd with a nine-month completion timeline, is
N74.51 billion

Contract was for the Phase II rehabilitation of the Ado-Ekiti–Afe Babalola University Road (Ekiti State, part of Ado–Ijan–Iluomobi–Imesi–Ondo border route) at the cost of N54.52 billion also at the cabinet meeting.

Also awarded was contract for the construction of the Ilara–Iselu Road, Phases II–V (Ogun State).

The cost of the contract is N94.24 billion and it is awarded to JRB Construction Company Ltd with a 24-month completion timeline.

On highway and trailer park concessions and public-private partnership, a 40-year concession was approved for Graciatech Engineering Nigeria Ltd.

The concession was for the development of the 7.9 km Dikko–Maje section of the Suleja–Minna Road, Niger State, at the cost of N56.75 billion

Also approved was the operation and maintenance of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway at N96.43 billion.

The 25-year concession was given LIB Concession Group.

The federal cabinet also approved the development of a greenfield trailer park at Aro-Ngwa, Abia State.

It is a 50-year concession approved for Greg Jane International Ltd at a cost of N19.70 billion.
