The Anambra State Government has dismissed as false a viral message claiming that the wife of the state governor, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, is scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala community in Orumba South Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Senior Media Aide to the Governor, Ezeigwe Daniel, described the circulating WhatsApp message as fake, stressing that it did not originate from the Office of the First Lady or the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.
The statement said the message, which is being shared across some WhatsApp groups, falsely claimed that the First Lady would visit the community on an undisclosed date and urged residents to gather at the Okegbe Health Centre to receive her.
The government urged residents of Owerre-Ezukala and the general public to disregard the message, warning against forwarding or acting on unverified information.
It noted that all official activities and engagements of the First Lady are communicated exclusively through verified channels and authorised announcements.
The government also called on members of the public to verify information before sharing it, warning that the spread of false information could create unnecessary confusion and anxiety.
