The ruling All Progressives Congress. APC, in Ebonyi State has boasted that it will clear all the elective positions in the 2027 general election.

Chairman of the party in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Emegha told reporters on Monday in Abakaliki that some of the candidates in opposition parties lost elections as APC flagbeares in the last general election.

Chief Emegha said, “some of them were given tickets in APC during the last general election and they failed woefully.

“They are all scavengers, looking for money to grab and not serious in the race.”

Emegha said that the APC in Ebonyi has remained strong and has picked credible candidates for the election.

“APC remains a formidable force with credible candidates that will win all the positions.

“If my mind is made up in anything, it is made up. APC will win the 2027 general election in Ebonyi very comfortably.

“All the people making noise saying they are contesting in other parties, were given APC tickets before and they contested and lost.”

“You contested election in the ruling party and lost. And now you want to go and try your luck in opposition.

“They are all scavengers and what they are looking for is the money, for them to drop for their ambition. None of them is serious,” he added.

According to him, the party has written and forwarded the names its cleared candidates as it is its responsibility to do so.

Chief Emegha described as mere propaganda the insinuation that some candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for next year’s election have been dropped.

He disclosed that the candidates remain those declared by the committees sent by the APC national secretariat to conduct the party’s primaries in the state.

“The state met severally and agreed on the candidates to file for the general election and we filed those candidates.

“The governor, who is the leader of the party, had a meeting with stakeholders of the state and people like Chief Martin Elechi were in the meeting till 10pm and the stakeholders agreed on candidates that would contest the election.

“So, very soon, the National Secretariat will publish the names of candidates of our party.”

“If you were following the activities of our party, including the primaries, you would have seen that the committee that came to conduct the exercise, declared all the results of APC primaries here in the state and it was done on camera.

“So, nothing has changed,” Emegha emphasised.
