The Mpam Elite Forum, MEF, a group made of sons of Mpam community in the Ahiazu Mbaise Council of Imo State, has thrown its weight behind Chukwudi Anyanwu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency in next year’s general election.
In a statement signed by its global leader Nze Holliday Prince Okeke, and Secretary, Mr. Paul Ogbuokiri, the MEF, called the traditional ruler of Mpam, Eze Leonard Ogbata, as well as all sons and daughters of the community to work towards Anyanwuocha’s success in the election.
Describing Anyanwuocha’s ticket as “Mpam project,” the group appealed to eligible voters in the community, irrespective of political party affiliations, to stand behind the Mpam-born lawyer.
The statement reads:
“We want to state with every sense of responsibility that this ticket is an Mpam Project which every Mpam son or daughter, no matter where your allegiance may be before, no matter the party you may belong to before or the structures you may have before now outside the Hon. Barr. Chukwudi Anyanwuocha ticket, we are imploring you to bring all the structures, connections or other resources you have to the Hon. Barr. Chukwudi Anyanwuocha ticket to effectively secure it all the way till he wins the election in January 2027.”
The MEF stressed the need for all Mpam people to unite to actualize their son’s victory.
” Anybody outside this collective resolve to secure this one God has given to Ndi-Mpam is a saboteur.
“It must not happen that any Mpam son or daughter takes his or her support to anywhere else for the Ahiazu-Ezinihitte Federal Constituency APC ticket, other than the only Mpam Project today: Hon. Barr. Chukwudi Anyanwuocha
“While the fact remains that everyone has the right to belong to any party of his or her choice or pursue any personal commercial interest at this election season, but on the APC House of Representatives ticket given to Hon Barr. Chukwudi Anyanwuocha every interest must be collapsed into this Mpam Project.
“Nothing else will be tolerated,” the group warned.
Backs Maduike for State Assembly
The MEF also stated its resolve to support another Mpam son, Sir Chibuike Maduike, who is the candidate of the African Democratic Congess, ADC, for the Imo State House of Assembly.
“Let us also not forget that the Ahiazu State Constituency ticket of African Democratic Congress, ADC, which our son, Hon Chibuike Paschal Maduike has secured.
“We must also treat his ticket as a bipartisan Mpam affair which we must give our all to ensure he wins.”
The MEF reminded Ndi-Mpam of the need to ensure that the two opportunites are not allowed to slip through their finger.
