Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday, arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, for an official visit to Anambra State.
Tinubu was received at the airport by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, his wife, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, and other senior government officials.
During her visit, Mrs. Tinubu will launch the Federal Government’s National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East, scheduled to take place at the Old Government House, Amawbia.
The programme is targeted at vulnerable groups, including widows, older persons, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers and children. It will also provide nutrition education and agricultural support.
As part of her engagements, Tinubu is expected to commission an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
The centre will provide training in software development, data analysis, digital marketing and other digital skills.
Tinubu is also expected to participate in the flag-off of an empowerment programme targeting 5,000 beneficiaries across Anambra State’s 21 local government areas.
The programme, led by the Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, is scheduled to take place at Ekwueme Square in Awka.
The First Lady’s official engagements in Anambra cover food support, nutrition, agricultural assistance, digital skills development and economic empowerment.
