Four suspected armed robbers on Sunday afternoon attacked a jewelry shop at the Shoprite Mall, Enugu, forcefully taking jewelries whose value has not been estimated as of the time of this report.
An eye witness told Anchor Reporters that four men went into the shop at about 3pm, Nigerian time, posing as customers.
According to him, the men asked the shop attendants to bring out gold jewelries, which were brought out for them.
After the jewelries had been brought out one of them came in from outside with a rifle and ordered everything packed in a bag.
Having collected the jewelries, they went into their car, which had the driver waiting for them, and drove off.
The witness said a security man tried to close the gate to prevent them from escaping but the suspected robbers shot into the air to scare the people.
It was gathered that there was no shooting inside the mall, and that no one was shot during the incident.
Details later.
